Fortunata Burgo

Burgo, Fortunata (Burgo) of Boston, died June 29, 2017.

Beloved mother of Susanna DosSantos and her husband Vicente of Dorchester and Christine Gomes of Dorchester.  Devoted grandmother of Gregory Gomes, Alexia Rojas, Jessica Rojas, Melodie Brown, Edson DosSantos, Vanya DosSantos and Marcielle Rocha.  Great grandmother of Xavyer Gomes, Giana Gomes and Cameron Robinson.  Cherished sister of Jose Pedro Burgo of Brockton, her twin Juvencia Louzada of Cape Cod, Jaime Burgo of RI, Maria Teresa DaRosa of Taunton and the late Antonio Burgo and Tini Brito.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Fortunata was a mother figure to many and touched the souls of everyone she encountered, affectionately known as Mamai and Cacai.  She was the go to person for whatever needed and was a great listener.   Fortunata worked as a daycare provider for over 40 years and loved teaching and caring for the children.  In her free time she enjoyed watching wrestling and crocheting.  Fortunata’s main passion in life was her family and spending time with those she loved.  She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and lively spirit.  Fortunata will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Patrick’s Parish, Roxbury at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
