Florence R. Mason

Mason, Florence R. (Pranaitis) of Quincy, died on June 13, 2010. She was 84. Beloved wife of the late Walter T. Mason. Devoted mother of Dr. Jan Monson and her husband Dr. David Monson of Olympia, WA, Linda Mason of Quincy and Nancy and her husband Kevin O’Brien of Concord, NH. Cherished Grandma of Jaime, Caithlin, Kevin and great-grandmother of Quanna and Ava Rose. Loving sister of the late Joseph, Edward and Raymond Pranaitis and Aldona Winsky. Dear sister-in-law of Jean Shields and her husband Robert of South Boston and Doris Pickering of Weston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Florence worked for Jordan Marsh for 18 years. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with current events. Her family describes her as a wonderful woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. Among her favorite activities was to sit at the kitchen table having a cup of tea while enjoying the flowers and birds in the back yard. She had a special place in her heart for her pets, Champy, Tyler and Lacey. She will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday, 9 – 11 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY, prior to the Funeral Service in Keohane Funeral Home at 11 AM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Charity of Your Choice.
