Cox, Florence M. (Stone) of Quincy, formerly of Weymouth, passed away on September 24, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Arthur L Cox. Devoted mother of Evelyn Shore of Quincy, Jean Maynard of Holbrook, Perry Cox of Sandwich, Marjorie McCoy of Bridgewater and Elizabeth Iacobucci of Quincy. Loving sister of the late Lawrence, Charles and Arthur Stone. Cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Florence was born in Winthrop and lived in Stoughton for many years, where she raised her family. In 1966 she graduated from a nursing program that was initiated by President Kennedy. She worked for many years as a nurse before retiring to Cape Cod and later, Weymouth. Florence’s passion was her family however, she also enjoyed cooking, drawing, home decorating and spending time in Vermont. Being very active in her faith, Florence was a parishioner at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brockton, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Barnstable and later, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Scituate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday from 4 PM – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Service in St. Lukes Episcopal Church, Scituate at 11:00 AM. Burial in Massachusetts National, Bourne at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter,311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472
