Florence M. Byrne

Byrne, Florence M. (Reilly)  95, of Quincy, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 4, 2015.

Florence was born in Boston.  She grew up in Cambridge and was a 1937 graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School. Her career led her on many paths from working at Monsanto during World War II to New England Telephone Company, Boston College, Pneumatic Scale Corp and finally retiring from Loomis Sayles & Company in Boston at the age of 80.  She enjoyed shopping, eating out, reading, current events, ceramics and traveling. She especially looked forward to spending winters in Hawaii with her husband.   

Beloved wife of the late Vincent P. Byrne, Sgt.  QPD, Ret.    Loving mother of Joseph Byrne of Deerfield Beach FL and Plymouth, Gerard Byrne and his wife Kerry of Raymond, ME, Lisa Byrne of Quincy, and Michelle Byrne of Las Vegas NV and Quincy. Devoted grandmother of Diana Gottlieb and her husband Cary of Boca Raton FL, Colin Byrne and Bridget Byrne of Portland ME, Mark Seaver of Carver and great grandchildren Sienna Gottlieb, Mark Seaver Jr. and Arianna Seaver.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Regina Burkinshaw of South Yarmouth and cousin Beatrice North of Brockton.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at Thursday 9:45 AM prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
