Adams, Florence of Hull and former Wellspring Book Store manager, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 9, 2011 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Charles F. Adams. Loving mother of Patricia Resnick Kriensky and her husband Marty of Oqunquit, Maine, John Adams and his wife Mary, Betsy Russo, and Judy Adams all of Hull, Melissa Dodson and her husband William of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Timothy Adams and his wife Nadine of Hanover and Terry Adams and his finance Chantelle of Bravon. Florence was Gram to her 11 grandchildren and was G.G. to 9 great-grandchildren. Florence was born in Attleboro, MA, grew up in Greenfield and has been a 50 year resident of Hull. In her earlier years in Western Mass she was most proud of her work with the Red Cross instituting swimming programs and producing radio and television shows around the theme of water and boating safety. She received several rewards for her work. Florence retired from Quincy City Hospital after 22 years of work in the Radiology Department. Her life in Hull was centered around her family and her many hours of volunteer work. Florence was a Hull Booster parent for many years. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader for 16 years serving in many capacities, from Leader to Trainer, to Director. Florence was a Hull Garden Club member beginning from the 1960’s helping to beautify her community. She enjoyed flower design as well as gardening. Florence was a member of the Friends of the Public Library, always available to bake or sell raffles or create themed baskets to help raise monies for the Library. Florence was most proud of her work at Well spring and the Bookstore. She always was an avid book reader. Her love of books is what lead her to take the position as the original Bookstore Manager. She helped set up and run the very successful storefront taking donations and turning them into revenue for the social programs of Wellspring. She retired from that position in 2011 after 10 years of service, due to her failing health. She has now been added to the Legacy Circle of Wellspring for her years of leadership and commitment. Florence will be missed by her family, friends and her community. Donations in memory of Florence may be make to Wellspring, 814 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 7 PM in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham.
