Felipe T. Borromeo Jr.

Felipe T. Borromeo, Jr., of Quincy, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was 90 years old.

A native of the Philippines, Felipe was born in Minalin, Pampanga on November 3, 1934, and was the son of the late Felipe Sr. and Mamerta (Tullao) Borromeo. He worked as an accountant, eventually retiring from The Winsor School.

Felipe’s family was his world. He immigrated to the United States on his own in the early 1970’s to provide a better life and education for his family, working four jobs to save enough money to bring his wife and daughters over to join him. Felipe was the beloved husband of Amelia J. (Javate) Borromeo, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was the devoted father and father-in-law of Anne-Mer Slebodnick and her husband Gary of Arlington, Debbie Lyn Toomey and her husband William of Quincy, Faye LaCasse and her husband Peter of Peabody, and Melanie Teabo and her husband Scott of Wilmington. Felipe was also the loving “Lolo” of twelve grandchildren: Phillip, Samuel, Jonathan, Daniel, Joel, Amelia, Isabel, Lucas, Jeremy, Maxwell, Jasmine, and Justin. In addition, he was the dear brother of four siblings including Avelina, Romeo, Victoria, and Edgardo.

Felipe loved sports, both as a player and as a spectator. Friends remember him as a fun but competitive tennis player and golfer who loved Boston sports, especially the Celtics. But, his talents weren’t exclusive to sports. Felipe had beautiful handwriting and loved cooking “the best” Filipino fried rice for his grandchildren. He was also a great storyteller and jokester and could often be seen wearing funny t-shirts or one of his several dozen hats. He had a great sense of style and had both flare and flair.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 9-9:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10 AM in Divine Mercy Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy.

Services will conclude with interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
