Evelyn Mary Vey

Vey, Evelyn Mary (Donnelly) of Quincy, formerly of Roslindale, died May 20, 2014.

Evelyn’s family brought her complete joy.  She was a talented woman who enjoyed arts and crafts, ceramics, smocking and gardening.  She and her husband Jim spent many vacations camping with their children and creating memories to last a lifetime.  A gifted dancer, Evelyn and Jim spent many years square dancing together.  She served on the board of the Deutsches Altenheim senior care center in West Roxbury and was a 1953 graduate of Roslindale High School.  She will be remembered for her gentleness, creativity, generosity and easy manner.

Beloved wife of James J. Vey of Quincy.  Loving mother of Kevin F. Vey and his wife Maureen of Quincy, Stephen J. Vey and his wife Deborah of Hanson, William J. Vey of Quincy, and James J. Vey, Jr. of Quincy.  Cherished Grammy to Melissa, Diane, James, Kaitlin, Coreen, Vanessa, William and Kristina and great grandmother to Chace, Arianna and Shane. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM.  Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
