Evelyn M. Kerrigan

Evelyn M. (Nagle) Kerrigan, 89, passed away on June 26, 2016 in Rockland, surrounded by her loving family.

Evie was born and raised in Boston. After graduating from high school she worked for the Department of the Navy in Boston. She married Louis J. Kerrigan and they lived in Brighton, later moving to Weymouth where she resided for over 50 years. She loved people and while raising her family, found time to be a girl scout leader, volunteer at South Shore Hospital gift shop,  be secretary of Weymouth Garden Club, participate in the Ladies Sodality at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Red Hat Group. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, refinishing furniture, knitting and crocheting. Her favorite job was being a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  

She is survived by daughters Elaine Kerrigan of Weymouth, Patricia Dirksmeier of Abington; sons, Richard Kerrigan of Rockland, Stephen Kerrigan of Thailand, Michael Kerrigan and his wife Jessica of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Todd, Ryan, Beth Kerrigan; Kaitlyn, Abi, Christopher Dirksmeier and 5 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM.

Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
