Evelyn Glynn

Glynn, Evelyn (Corey) of Weymouth, died peacefully at home on May 24, 2022 at the age of 97 after a long and courageous battle with several health issues. She was a lifelong resident of Weymouth, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Richard J. (Dick) Glynn.

Evelyn enjoyed cooking and loved sharing her meals with family and friends. Her banana bread was legendary. She also had quite a green thumb and enjoyed working in her garden and caring for her many beautiful orchids. She was truly passionate about her family, and was always willing to give advice, whether requested or not. She also loved to travel to Las Vegas and Foxwoods, but her favorite trip was to Hawaii with her husband. She will be remembered for her strong faith, generosity, caring nature, and kind soul.

Loving wife of the late Richard J. (Dick) Glynn. Devoted mother of James P. Glynn II and his wife Heather of Quincy, the late Richard M. (Dick) Glynn of Weymouth and his widow Patti Marshall, and the late Joan E. McNally of Weymouth. Sister of Martha Corey of Hingham, and the late George Corey, Laurice Nenna, Michael Corey, Sam Corey, Eleanor Corey, and Sadie Corey. Cherished “Gram” to Tina LaLond, Laura Montgomery, Michelle Glynn-Hall, Bryan Glynn, Tasi Glynn, and the late John F. McNally, Jr. Great grandmother to Keira Hall, Freddie Glynn, Devyn LaLond, Richard LaLond III, Alissa O’Brien, and Kyle Montgomery. Evelyn also leaves behind 4 great-great grandchildren. She was the beloved “Aunt Evie” to Frances Nenna of Yarmouth Port, Charles Gregory and his wife Ann of Duxbury, and many nieces, nephews, and grand nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wed. June 8, from 4 to 7pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth at 809 Main St (Rte. 18 opposite So Shore Hospital). Her funeral service will be celebrated on Wed. June 8 at 7pm in the funeral home. A private burial will follow at a later date.
