Eugene W. “Gene” Garrity

Garrity, Eugene W. “Gene” of Weymouth, died June 19, 2013. 

Gene was a very proud United States Navy Veteran, having served during both WWII and the Korean conflict.  After a long career at Verizon, he became an active volunteer with the Telephone Pioneers of America.  Gene enjoyed photography, avidly taking photos since he was a youngster.  He was an enthusiastic and loyal Patriots fan.  IN retirement, Gene and his wife would frequently spend their Sundays at Nantasket Beach, where they would actively participate in line dancing and enjoy the live band acts.  His main passion, however, was his family and spending time with those he loved.

Beloved husband and best friend of Edith Garrity (Deane) of Weymouth.  Devoted father of Michael Garrity of Sagamore Beach, Kathleen Capasso of Weymouth, Kevin Garrity and his wife Lynda of Plymouth, Patricia Short and her husband Chris of Quincy and the late Steven Garrity.  Loving Grampa to Maureen, Lisa, Leanne and Steven.  Caring brother to the late Eleanor, Michael “Joey” and Virginia.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 9-10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.) prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 11 AM.
