Ethel (Maniates) Earle, 88, a 57 year resident of Wollaston passed away in her Glendora, CA home on July 27, 2011. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William L. Earle, and beloved daughter, Pauline Earle. Ethel is survived by her son George Earle (Brenda), of Marshfield, and Rita Earle Peterson (Dexter), of Glendora, CA. Devoted “YaYa” to Robert, William and Michele Mamaty, George and Christine Earle, and William, Sean and Kristin Peterson, of Glendora, CA. Ethel’s only surviving sister, Mary Lewis resides in Beaumont, CA. Born in Boston, August 28, 1922, to Charles and Mersina (Korasanis) Maniates, Ethel was predeceased by brothers Nick and Paul Maniates, and sisters, Irene Gewlas, Anne Raftell, and Dessie Tasso. She had a 44 year career with the Quincy based Raytheon Corp., as a successful and respected Electronics Technician. In retirement, Ethel and Bill enjoyed frequent flyer trips to their second home in California, where they divided their time enjoying their grandchildren and taking side trips to Vegas with her sister Mary. Matriarch of the family, Ethel shared her wisdom and delight with many of her 11 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great “Great” Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 9:30-10:30am in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in St. Catherines, Greek Orthodox Church . Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Ethel may be made to Marshfield Community Christmas, P.O. Box 713, Marshfield, MA 02050 or Hope International University c/o Ty Angel, head softball coach.
