Ernesto “Ernie The Barber” Caparrotta

Caparrotta, Ernesto “Ernie” of Hull November 16, 2003. Beloved husband of 52 years to Mary (Morano) Caparrotta. Loving father of William P. Langtry of Taunton, Joseph E. Caparrotta of Hull, Rosemary Castellano of Argentina, Linda Oldakowski of Hull and Nancy Muscolino of Braintree. Brother of Giovanni Caparrotta of Hull, Luigina Roberto of Belgium, Lina Frappa of Australia, and the late Angelina Rodophele, Franchina DiMoro, Salvatore Caparrotta & Francesco Caparrotta. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many nieces and nepews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 1-3 and 5-8 PM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery.Ernie ran Ernie’s Barbershop in Hull for 52 years before his illness. At age 27, he came to the U.S. by himself on the QE2. He was a wonderful vegetable gardener, known for his tomatoes. He enjoyed riding his bicycle well into his seventies with a basket full of fruits and vegetables. He often traveled back to Italy. He met John F. Kennedy when he was a senator campaigning in Hull and he was a very good friend of General Butch Neal.
