Ernestine A. Costa

Mrs. Ernestine A. (Morganelli) Costa, of Braintree, passed away on November 1, 2024. She was 94.

Born in Quincy, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Nicolai) Morganelli, she lived in Quincy for many years before moving to Braintree.

Ernestine worked for many years for Chatfield, Whitman and Young Insurance Agency and then worked until the age of 70 and retired from Burgin Platner Insurance Agency. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, following her Boston Sports teams, playing cards, spending her summers in Hampton Beach with her family and was always willing to help anyone she could with whatever someone wanted.

She will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her. 

Beloved wife of the late Albert Costa. 

Loving mother of Cynthia DiGangi and her husband, Ronald, of Braintree and Diane Maze and her husband, Stephen, of Quincy. Sister of the late Olga Scigalino. 

Grandmother of Stephen Maze of Quincy, Jena Maze of Quincy, Joseph DiGangi and his wife, Tara of Weymouth, and Anthony DiGangi of Rockland. Great Grandmother of Joey, Emma, and Drew. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 11/5/2024 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday 11/6/2024 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. 

Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
