Ernest A. Forgione

Ernest A. Forgione, 95, of Woodstock, VT formerly of Framingham, MA, passed away Wednesday, May 30th at The Woodstock Terrace.

He was born July 7, 1922 in Boston, MA, the son of Vincent and Angelina (Albano) Forgione.

Ernie graduated from East Boston High School in 1939. He then served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service in World War II aboard the USS Barb as a radioman. He also served in the Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force Reserves achieving the rank of Lt. Col. In 1952, he graduated from University of Connecticut with a degree in Physics and Mathematics. Following his military service, he was employed by the U.S. Navy Underwater Sound Lab in New London, CT, and later by the Raytheon Company as a radar systems engineer, and the Mitre Corp as a program manager. He retired in 1991.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Marjorie R. (Kennedy) Forgione, whom he married on July 23, 1944; a daughter Eileen A. Gibson of Stillwater, MN; two sons Ernest A. Forgione, Jr. of Bowdoinham, ME, and David P. (Martha) Forgione of Woodstock, VT; 5 grandchildren Lisa, Kelly, Jessica, Justin, and Lauren, and his 3 great grandchildren; Alicia, Orion, and Teagan.

Relatives and friends may gather for a visitation on Wednesday June 6th, 8:00 am at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, East Weymouth, MA, 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).

A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Albert the Great Church, 1130 Washington St., Weymouth, MA at 9:30 am, and burial in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 pm.
