Cherished sister of Margaret Sousa of No. Quincy and the late Francis Sousa. Loving grandmother of Kevin and his wife Donna Mock, Brian and Dierdre Mock all of No. Quincy. Aunt of Ronald Cedrone of No. Quincy. Lovingly devoted to the Cameron family and the Willie Leslie family. Also survived by 6 great grandsons. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, No. Quincy at 9: AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 6-9 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Elvera was active with The Welcome Young People Playground, Atlantic Neighborhood Center, Sacred Heart Sodality and Quincy politics in particular the Women’s National Democratic Group. Prior to working as a supervisor for the City of Quincy traffic dept. Elvera was a psychiatric nurse supervisor at Boston State Hospital. She was one of the first female nurses to work on the male psychiatric ward. She also took care of the Holy Communion classes at Sacred Heart until the nuns took over.
