Ellen T. O’Brien

O’Brien, Ellen T. of North Quincy, died the 11th of August, 2013, at the age of 74. 

Beloved daugter of the late John and Mary (McDonough) O’Brien. Sister of Mary E. Raux and her husband, Eugene, of North Quincy, John O’Brien and his wife, Lorraine, of Stoneham, the late Jane C. O’Brien and the late Redmond O’Brien and his widow, Ann, of Lexington, SC.  Aunt of Mary Ellen Raux, MD, Rev. Redmond Raux, Christine Putnam, Mark O’Brien, David O’Brien, Janet Nork, Jane Webster, Peter O’Brien, and the late Eugene Raux. She is also survived by 14 great nieces and nephews.

Ellen was born in North Quincy and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and went on to Emmanuel College, graduating in 1960. She worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for over 40 years. She was also a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish where she participated in the Women’s Sodality. Ellen was a proud participant in the Quincy Senior Olympics and she supported many charitable causes including the American Heart Association, Emmanuel College, and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
