Elizabeth T. (Pryor) Durgin, of Rockland, passed away on April 20, 2022. She was 98.
Elizabeth was know to family and friends as “Dot”. She grew up in Boston and lived there until she and her beloved husband Bill retired to their wonderful lake home in New Hampshire. The best years of her life were spending time both before and after retirement with children, grandchildren, family and friends in New Hampshire. In 1996 Dot and Bill returned to Massachusetts where they purchased a home in Rockland to be closer to family in their golden years. Dot loved to knit and crochet and her Irish Knit Sweaters were works of art.
Beloved wife of the late Chester “Bill” Durgin.
Loving mother of Patricia Powers and her late husband, Francis of Stoughton, Dorothy Kerivan and her husband, Thomas of Rockland, and William L. Durgin and his wife, Lorraine, of The Villages, Florida. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, Dorothy Nicholson, Patricia Davis, Linda Eaton, Donna Stranahan, Sandra Guilliani, Lorraine Kumlin, Thomas Kerivan and Derek Durgin. Grandmother of the late Francis, Thomas, Joseph and Robert Powers. She is also survived by 18, great grandchildren, the late Amanda Powers and 15 great great grandchildren. Elizabeth was the sister of Paul Pryor and the late John, William and Joseph Pryor and the late Beatrice Ash, Marie Joyce and Patricia Quirk. She will be remembered with love by her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, May 4th from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM on Thursday, May 5th prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Family Rockland, at 9 AM.
Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.
A special thank you to her granddaughter Dottie Nicholson and her husband Brian for their compassionate care and selflessness over many years and especially in these last months.
Memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to a charity of your choosing.
