Elizabeth T. Mccolough

Elizabeth T. (Gallagher) McColough, 99, died July 10 at home. 

Born on January 19, 1914 in Mnachester, NH.  Daughter of the late Johanna (O’Brien) and Joseph P. Gallagher.. Wife of Charles H. McColough who predeceased her in 1986.  She was a graduate of Westford Academy, Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing, and Long Island College Hospital where she received her Nurse Anesthetist training.  She worked at several area hospitals including Lowell General, South Shore, Quincy City, Carney, and Faulkner.  She was well known for her “green thumb”, love of children, birds, and animals, as well as her keen sense of humor.  She was a member of the Weymouth Catholic Club.

She is survived by four children, Charles H. McColough Jr. and partner, Esther Peel, of Waltham, Helen Clauson and partner, Hank Smith, of Hanover, NH, Thomas McColough and wife, Hannah, of LaBelle, FL and Elizabeth Barton and husband, Michael, of Yorktown, VA.  She also leaves 9 grandchildren, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 9 AM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lowell.
