Elizabeth A. Gilbody

Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Gilbody (Suttill) 88 of Pembroke and formerly of Weymouth passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024.

Liz was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was kind, generous and compassionate. Liz lived her values, with a strong sense of loyalty to family, and to those she loved. Liz, her Husband and sons, were active members of Holy Nativity in Weymouth. Liz volunteered for the church and was an officer of the Old Colony P.M. Club, a social and philanthropic organization. She loved to travel, host parties and events, and enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Liz graduated from North Quincy High School in 1953 and attended Chandler School for Women. She started her career, working at St. Croix Paper Co. in Boston, MA, and Boston Safe Deposit & Trust, in the Investment Analysis Department. In May,1968, Liz became Co-Owner and Vice President of Gragil Associates Inc. in Weymouth and Rockland. Liz successfully shared the building of the business with her husband Edward, for 33 years. 

Liz also enjoyed traveling, hosting dinner parties, Bunko game nights, attending the theater, and spending time with family and friends.

Liz is survived by her sons David and his wife Michele of Freeport, ME, William and his wife Pamela from Plymouth, her grandchildren Stephanie Lancia and her husband David from Westwood, Nicole Hohl and her husband Dan from Portland, ME, Michael Gilbody and his wife Lindsey from Duxbury, Hannah Wright and her husband Josh from Portland, ME and great-grandchildren Rose, Silas, Oliver, Owen, Adeline, Charlotte, Phoebe, Emma, and Amelia. Liz was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Gilbody, mother Edith (Hooley) Suttill, and Father Leonard Suttill.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, June 6, from 4-7 pm at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 40 Sea Street, North Weymouth. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am in the funeral home, followed by a burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
