Elizabeth E. “Betty” Bowler

Bowler, Elizabeth E. “Betty” (McGrath) of Braintree, passed away on  April 25, 2016 surrounded by the family she cherished. The beloved wife of 60 years to the late Edmund Bowler. Loving mother of Edmund T. Bowler, Jr. and his wife Dot of Hingham. Richard Bowler and his partner Michelle McCormick  of Boston, Neal Bowler and his wife Bonnie of Pembroke and Maureen Boulanger and her husband Tim of NJ. Cherished sister of Peg Boyle of Brookline and the late Rev. Thomas McGrath, S.J., Ann McCluskey, Mary McMahon, John McGrath and Rita Carroll. Devoted Granny to Stephanie, Julie, Chrissie, Eddie, Alex, Cosette, Joy and Mac. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Regis College Class of 1949, she late received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Assumption College. Mrs. Bowler was a longstanding member at South Shore Country Club. The foundation of her life was her family and her faith. They were the cornerstone of what was truly important to her. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother as well as a devout Catholic. Her family is grateful for all the blessings she brought into their lives. Betty will be sadly missed. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North Street, Hingham, on  Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30am  followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM.  Burial In St. Paul’s Cemetery.
