Elizabeth “Betty” Pinkus

Pinkus, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Nelson) of Hingham and Wellfleet, born and raised in Dorchester, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on April 23, 2016, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late David Pinkus. Loving mother of Janice Henley and her husband Jack of Hingham, Steven Pinkus and his wife Betsy of Cohasset, Jeffrey Pinkus and his wife Barbara of Cohasset, Kimberly Hannon and her husband Mark of Hanover, Suzanne Hoffses and her husband Stephen of Hingham, and the late David Pinkus.  Cherished grandmother of John, Jeffrey, Jason, Jared, Nichole, Beau, Danielle, William, Kyle, Christina, Brittany, Kayley, Sydney, Andrew, Bridget and Madeline. Great-grandmother of Jason, Sophie, Emily, Jennavieve, Cole, Maggie and Caroline. Dear sister-in-law of Isabelle Pinkus of Milton as well as many neices.  Betty will be dearly missed by all who loved her. 

Years ago, Betty worked at M.I.T. as an office manager during the war. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Hull and the Hingham Mother’s Club.  She was an avid traveler who frequented Hawaii and Bermuda. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM  in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:45AM prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 12:00PM . Burial will be private.
