Elizabeth “Betty” Hunt

Elizabeth (Betty) A. Hunt, 87, of Weymouth, passed away February 7, 2024 at Harbor House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, received in the hands of God with her family at her side.

Betty was born on January 15, 1937 in Boston, MA to Harry & Mary Reid.  She worked the majority of her career in a supervisory capacity, with the last leg ending in retirement from the Bank of Boston in 1997.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Joseph McQuaid in 2016, devoted husband, William Hunt, in 2017; and daughter, Deborah Harrington in 2022.  Despite having those difficult losses, Betty went on to live the remainder of her life devoted to her remaining children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Kevin McQuaid and his wife Cheryl of Derry, NH and Karen Harvey and her husband Larry of Weymouth, MA; her sister, Margaret Quinn of Abington, MA; her daughter-in-law, Donna McQuaid of Plymouth, MA, her son-in-law James Harrington of Hanover, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Sheri, Jill, Kevin Jr., Jaclyn, Tayla, Amber and Justin.  Betty most embraced the joy of being a great-grandmother to Haley, Eric, Noah, Mia, Carter, Kyler, Lillian and Remi.

In years past, Betty was known for her love of ballroom and line dance alongside her husband.  Her greatest loves/interests were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was an avid reader, thoroughly enjoyed dining out, shopping, the casino, and bingo games at the Harbor House.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Wednesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Funeral service will be celebrated immediately following the visiting hours at 11:00 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home.  Burial will be private.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory be made to Harbor House Activities Department, 11 Condito Road, Hingham, MA  02043.
