Elizabeth “Betty” Forsyth

Elizabeth “Betty” (Duffley) Forsyth of Weymouth, died January 18, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Rear Admiral Bruce D. Forsyth of the Public Health Service.. Loving sister of the late Richard Duffley. Cherished aunt of the late Elinor Hennessey and the late Joanne Caruso (Tony) of Hingham, Richard Duffley (Arleen) of Billerica, Kevin Duffley (Valerie) of Nevada and Robert Duffley. Also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews step-grandchildren and friends. 

Betty grew up in Dorchester, graduating from Boston College and lived in Hingham and Tequesta FL for many years before moving to Weymouth 14 years ago. She worked in the Quincy Social Security Office for many years, retiring as the Assistant District Manager. Betty enjoyed traveling, golfing and writing. She will be remembered as an outgoing, loving and charitable woman. She will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago,IL 60631.
