Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Nee (Buonamano) of Quincy and formerly of Braintree, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 77.

Born in Dorchester on September 22, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Arnold J. and Mary M. (Connors) Buonamano. Liz attended local schools and graduated from Quincy High School. Liz dedicated her life to being a homemaker and raising her children before she returned to work as a cashier for Stop & Shop on Newport Ave. in Quincy for over 25 years.

Liz adored her family and loved being Nana to her grandchildren, who she enjoyed watching. In her spare time she loved relaxing in her pool, reading, gardening, and cooking for her family. She loved the holidays, whether it was decorating the house, attending parades, or having cookouts in the backyard. Liz also enjoyed trips to NY with her mom, sister, and daughters, shopping, and seeing musicals. Liz was a good neighbor and valued member of the community in which she was affectionately known to all as “Betty”. She was a generous, loving, and thoughtful woman. Liz will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of 48 years to the late William P. Nee. Cherished mother of Mary McNamara and her husband Kyle of Pembroke, Shawn Nee and his wife Julie Haire of Los Angeles, and Ashley Stedman and her husband Bernard of Braintree. Loving sister of Diane Buonamano of Milton and the late Arnold Buonamano Jr. and wife Rosalie of Florida. Devoted Nana of Owen and Addison McNamara, Wilkes Nee, and Claire, Richard, William, and John Stedman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
