HARVEY, Elizabeth (Sweeny), Age 76, died January 10, 2011, at her home in Linden Ponds, in Hingham, MA after a seven year struggle against lung cancer. Daughter of the late John F. and Minnie A. Sweeny, of West Roxbury, MA. Dr. Harvey is survived by her much loved children, Mary Ellen Honsa and her husband, Michael, of Brockton, MA, and David Mantor Hartwell and his wife, Anne, of Livermore, CA. Adoring grandmother of Jesse Honsa of Zurich, Switzerland, Michael Honsa and Matthew Honsa, both of Lowell, MA, Elizabeth Hartwell Perry and her husband Daniel of Provo, Utah, and Christopher Hartwell of Livermore, CA. Cherished sister of Joan Webber and her husband William of Ashburnham, MA. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and by her dearest friend, Toivo Karhu of Linden Ponds, Hingham, MA. Predeceased in 2004 by her loving husband of 30 years, Marshall J. Traibman, and by her dear friend and beloved companion at Linden Ponds, Bryce H. Blair. Dr. Harvey was born in Boston, graduated from Girls’ Latin School in Boston, earned a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, an MA and PhD in Social Philosophy from Brandeis University, and an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health. She worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for a number of years, doing clinical research on birth defects. She has donated many crocheted blankets to Project Linus as gifts for hospitalized infants and children. Burial will be private, at St. Denis cemetery in Ashburnham, MA. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a memorial service in the auditorium at Linden Ponds, on Monday afternoon, January 17, 2011, at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in Dr. Harvey’s name to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184, or The Linden Ponds Benevolent Fund, 300 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, MA 02043.
