Eleanor Lucille (Everett) Mariani

July 5, 1929 – June 11, 2024

Nobody else held me so tight

Or made me feel so right

Her beautiful eyes shined so bright with love

That is my mom, who is now high above

Eleanor—dependable, loyal, and full of a deep love for her family—we now carry on with so many memories, stored in our hearts forever. Beautiful, inside and out, and always dressed in the most fashionable sweatsuit; she never failed to impress. Her humor and wit were undeniable; her strength and endurance inspired us all. We cannot describe how much her presence will be missed.

Mother to Sheila Andrews and Gail DelPrete, grandmother to Darice DelPrete, Sabrina Bauer and James Delprete, mother-in-law to Paul DelPrete and Ronnie Andrews, and the most loving great-grandmother (Gigi) to Marina Johnson, Aliya Johnson, Charlotte Bauer, and Vivienne Bauer. Yes, she leaves us behind, but will rejoin her loving mother Mary, sisters Rose and Mary, and brother Ronald. She will once again hold hands with our father, her husband, George Mariani, and will again listen to him play the piano and organ and dance the jitterbug as they loved to do. 

She has many family members, friends, and pets waiting for her on the other side. We hope they all rejoice as they meet again to eat her homemade raviolis, meatballs, and lemon meringue pie. She is now one of our guardian angels. Thank you, Mom, for all you did. We love you forever.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. 

Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rockland. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bay Path Nursing Home and make payable by check in memory of Eleanor Mariani, Brewster Section, Attention to Lynn Best, 308 Kingstown Way, Duxbury, MA 02332.
