Eleanor Louise Vafides

Vafides, Eleanor Louise (Hickey) of East Bridgewater, formerly of Hull, July 1, 2008. Wife of the late Alexander Vafides. Loving mother of Judith Sproule of East Bridgewater, James Vafides of Abington, John Vafides of Berkley, and the late Jay Vafides. Loving grandmother of George Sproule, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Sally Brooks of Beverly and Jessica Sproule of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Sister of the late Margaret Haggerty, Dorothy Fitzpatrick, James, Walter, Mary and Barbara Hickey. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Eleanor was a 1938 graduate of Hingham High School. She worked as a waitress at Stars Restaurant (formerly Pages) in Hingham for 20 years. She enjoyed vacationing with family in Maine and Cape Cod and was an avid Red Sox fan. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM.
