Eleanor L. Mccauley

McCauley, Eleanor L. (Williams) of Quincy, entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2022 after a battle with metastatic lung cancer.

Beloved wife of the late Arthur H. McCauley. She was the sister of the late Charles E. Williams of Florida and Robert F. Williams of California.

Eleanor was born and raised in Savin Hill. She graduated from Dorchester High School and attended Boston Teachers College and Quincy Junior College. Her working career included an enjoyable 25 years with Quincy Public Schools the last 19 years at the old Central Middle School. She loved being a homemaker and all that went with it. She enjoyed company, crafts, helping others and there was always a special place in her heart for a little dog currently Peanut.

Eleanor found pleasure in the simpler things in life, including morning walks with friends at the South Shore Plaza followed by coffee and conversation at the Friendship Table. Her faith was most important to her. She was actively involved at Central Baptist Church for the last 44 years and took part in many of the church groups. She will be remembered as a devoted friend, always there when needed, so characteristically of the way she lived.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday in the Central Baptist Church, 67 Washington St., Quincy from 10-11 AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 11 AM. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.
