Eleanor K. Labombard

La Bombard, Eleanor K. “Ellie” (Kubera) of Quincy, died on Monday, October 11, 2010. The beloved wife of Lloyd “Ken ” LaBombard of Quincy. Loving mother of Dawn M. LaBombard of Halifax, special mother to Christina and Joshua. Cherished Nonnie of Shawna & Robert McElman both of Halifax. Sister of Janice Freda Pomer of Winthrop, Robert Kubera of ME, Carl Kubera of Quincy and Philip Kubera of Dorchester and the late Edward & Christopher Kubera. Ellie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Chelsea in the Chelsea Naval Hospital, Ellie grew up in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School. She moved to Quincy back in 1980. Past Commander of D.A.V.A. Unit 13 in Dorchester, she held many offices on the State level. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and cherished grandmother, who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Saturday 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday evening at 8pm. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ellie may be made to Hershberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Reasearch, 2990 S. Sepulveda Blvd. Suite 300 C, Los Angeles, CA 90064.
