Woodman, Eleanor E. (Dunscombe) of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died May 20, 2009 at home. Wife of 49 years to Robert T. “Woody” Woodman. Mother of Robert, Jr. & wife Dawn of Revere, Denise Moss & husband Scott of West Hartford, CT, George & wife Jean of Billerica, and Ann McCarthy & husband Jim of Scituate. Sister of the late Peggy & her husband Joe Dolan of Quincy and the late George Dunscombe, Jr. Sister in law of Jane and Vinnie Carbone of Tewksbury and Palm Beach, FL, Mary “Dolly” White of Stoneham and brother in laws Billy Woodman and his wife Sharon of Revere and Al Woodman and his wife Janice of Tewksbury and the late Jimmy Woodman. Devoted “Nana” to 13 grandchildren; her pride and joy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Ellen Dunscombe of South Boston and County Cork, Ireland. Ellie worked as a lunch aid at Mass Fields School in Wollaston. She was a member of the Castle Island Association in South Boston, a former member of St. Ann Parish Marianne’s, and former secretary treasurer of Quincy Youth Baseball Leagues from 1970-1975. She cherished being a grandmother. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Tuesday 4-8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:15 AM prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in memory of Ellie may be made to the Carney Hospital Foundation, 2100 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester, MA 02124.
