Eleanor (Powers) Dinneen of Hingham, MA and Hutchinson Island, FL (Formerly of So. Weymouth and Rye Beach, NH) Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She leaves her loving husband of 58 years Gil Dinneen, Devoted mother of Chip Dinneen and his wife Marie of Hanover, Susan Dinneen Toomey and her husband Jack of Hingham, and Jeffrey B. Dinneen of Vero Beach, FL. Survived by her beloved grandchildren, Scott, Jimmy, John, Colin, Elizabeth, Kyle, Casey and Alexandra, and her great grandsons Jameson and Maxwell. Loving sister of Lorraine M. Poulin, William W. Powers, Dolores H. Adams, Joan C. Bellino, Thomas H. Powers and Barbara A. Oakley and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her late sisters Mary E. Morris and Jeanne M. Force and late brothers James and John Powers. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell. Most important to Eleanor was enjoying the company of her family. She will be remembered for her generosity to others and sing alongs at Happy Times. An accomplished vocalist, she will be remembered for her rendition of “Won’t You Come Home Bill Bailey”. Lifelong Democrat (former state committee woman), active in St. Francis Xavier Church, So. Weymouth. Former Red Cross nurse WWII and librarian Boston Herald. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Shore VNA, 100 Baystate Drive, P.O. Box 859060, Braintree, MA 02185.
