Eileen R. Murphy

Eileen R. Murphy of Hingham, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021.  She was 92.

She was born in Boston to the late Ellen T. (Ryan) and Eugene J. Murphy. Eileen graduated from Cathedral High School and had a distinguished career as an Auditor for the MBTA for over 40 years.  

Eileen was a humble and incredibly strong woman. She was charitable and generous and always tried to help those in need. She truly loved her many trips to Ireland over the years with both her family and friends.

Eileen is preceded in death by her siblings: Eugene Murphy and his wife Marie, Arthur W. Murphy, George F. Murphy, Maureen Charlton and her husband Richard and Donald Murphy.  

She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews Kathleen Buell, JoAnne Cronrath, Ann Marie LoPiccolo, Gene Murphy, George Murphy, Maura Sweetnam, their families, and many loyal friends from her youth growing up in the South End to her last decades in Hingham.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, August 2, from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eileen may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
