Eileen M. Bacon

Bacon, Eileen M. (Jarvie) of Quincy, passed away February 23, 2011 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of 61 years to Alcide Bacon of Quincy. Devoted mother of Kenneth Bacon of TX, Donald Bacon of NH, Gary Bacon of Quincy, Debra Martucci of CA, Sharon Bennett of Hull, Pamela Ryan of Weymouth, Maureen Hussey of FL, John Bacon of Abington, Paula Clark of Halifax and the late Joseph Bacon. Loving sister of Alexander Jarvie of Quincy and the late Rita and Donald Jarvie. Cherished Nana of 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Eileen worked as a registered nurse for many years retiring as head nurse of the oncology ward at the Mattapan Chronic Disease Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and being surrounded by her loving family. During her 61 years of being happily married, Eileen loved her weekly dinner dates with her husband to various restaurants. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Eileen may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
