Eileen F. Vicini of Weymouth, died January 10, 2017 at the age of 95.
Eileen worked as an administrator to the Controller at the Quincy Patriot Ledger before joining the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer. During her career with the Department of State, she served at NATO and USEC in Brussels, Belgium and later in Casablanca, Morocco, stationed at the Consulate General, where she served as security officer and an aide to Henry Kissinger. She also served at the American Embassy in Madrid, Spain before completing her career at the Department of State in Washington, D.C. Eileen also volunteered at South Shore Hospital for many years with over 10,000 hours of service. Until recently she was a communicant at Immaculate Conception Church where she had been the soloist for daily Mass for many years and participated in many shows and donated her time and beautiful voice to enrich the liturgy. She was also a member of the Weymouth Catholic Club and the Daughters of Italy.
Eileen was the daughter of the late Elvira (Santacroce) and Leo Vicini; sister of the late Evelyn Eacobacci and her husband the late Michael Eacobacci Sr., Nina Vicini, Benedetto Vicini, and Marie Vicini; loving aunt of Judith Corbett and her husband Deacon Francis Corbett of Weymouth, the late Michael J. Eacobacci, Jr and his wife Jane of Dennisport; the grand aunt of Christopher J. Corbett and his wife Eileen, Gregory Corbett and his wife Elizabeth, Timothy Corbett and his wife Muriel, Cara Corbett Rinaldi and her husband Matthew, Michael Eacobacci, III and his wife Kathryn, John Eacobacci and his wife Danielle, Brian Eacobacci and his wife Danielle; step grand aunt to Jenny Barber, and David Barber and his wife Pam. She is also lovingly survived by twenty two great grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at Noon on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 1 PM . Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Eileen may be made to South Shore Hospital Volunteer Services, Attn.: Diane Downs, 55 Fogg Rd., Weymouth, MA 02190.
