Eileen Cahalan

Cahalan, Eileen (O’Donnell) of Quincy, formerly of Boston, passed away April 29, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Matthew Cahalan. Loving mother of Fran Smith and her husband Ed of Randolph and Dan Cahalan and his wife Judy of Quincy. Cherished grandmother of Terry Panameno and her husband Henri, Brian Smith, Chrissie, Greg, and Steve Cahalan and Joe Barry. Sister of Nora LeMay of Roslindale, and the late Michael, John and Patrick O’Donnell, and Mary Walsh. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Eileen was born in Ireland and very proud of her heritage. Her family gave her much enjoyment and she doted on her many grandchildren. In her early years, she spent many days shopping with her sister Nora in downtown Boston. They would start the day at Arch Street Church, followed by trips to Jordan Marsh. She was a creative individual who enjoyed music and dancing. A longtime member of the Irish Social Club, Eileen participated in many of their functions. She was also a faithful parishioner at St. Ann’s Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Eileen may be made to St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170.
