Edward J. Sheehan

Mr. Edward J. Sheehan, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away suddenly in his home on June 15, 2024.

Son to the late Helen and John Sheehan, Eddie was born in Boston and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1965. He went on to work for over 40 years as a custodian for the City of Boston Schools. An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing in the men’s league at President’s Golf Course in Quincy. Upon retirement, Eddie spent nearly twenty years as a part-time resident of Naples, Florida. A lifetime member of Savin Hill Yacht Club, he often enjoyed boating trips with his friends. Above all, Eddie most enjoyed time spent with his boys. His pride and love for his sons was immeasurable. Eddie will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Loving father of Michael Sheehan and his wife, Heather, of Hanson, Daniel Sheehan and his wife, Kristen, of Weymouth, and Kevin Sheehan of Waltham. Brother of Helene Ayre and her husband, Paul, of Plymouth, Thomas Sheehan of Dorchester, and the late John Sheehan and his surviving wife, Sheila, of Quincy. Former husband of Marie Sheehan, of Whitman. Loving Papa to Ayden, Layla, Billie, Owen, and Frankie. Eddie is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews of whom he loved.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 23rd, from 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Route 18). A mass in Eddie’s memory will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
