Mr. Edward R. MacCormack, Retired Captain of MSP of Weymouth, passed away on May 31, 2023.
Ed was born in Boston, a son of the late Donald Francis and Mary Ellen (MacDonald) MacCormack, he had lived in Weymouth for many years raising his family. He was on the Mass State Police for 22 years ending his career as a Captain. Ed then went on to work for Boston Edison as a security specalist. Ed and his late wife Janet were daily communicants at Saint Jerome’s Church and he was also on the North Weymouth Civic Association. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed traveling, painting and was also well known for creating and painting Coat of Arms for his Scottish Heritage as well as playing the bagpipes. He was a proud Korean war veteran serving with the United States Coast Guard. Ed will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Beloved husband of the late Janet (McDonough) MacCormack.
Loving father of Edward MacCormack and his wife, Diane, of Scituate, Carolyn Cattaneo of Holbrook, Paula MacCormack and her companion, Nino Crugnale of South Boston, and Bob MacCormack and his wife, Susan, of Rockland. Brother of the late John MacCormack, Anne Hughes, and Jean Murphy.
Proud Grampy to Christina, Alanna, Bobby, Cameron, Lauren, Madolyn, Kimberly, Katy, and Natalie and Great Grampy to Emilia and Gemma. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, June 5th, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, June 6th, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.
Burial will follow in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
