Edward P. Garvey

Edward P. Garvey of North Weymouth, died August 6, 2021 at the age of 90.

He proudly served in the US Navy in the Korean War and retired after 20 years of service. He worked for the Weymouth Naval Air Station as a firefighter on the crash crew. Ed also worked for Blue Hill Regional Technical School in the maintenance department for many years. Ed was a skilled artist and could often be found sharing his cartoon talents with local businesses and friends in the community with his incredible “Be Happy” magnets. In his early days he was an active boxer surrounded by many of the greats. Ed was a longtime supporter of local animal shelters, a Notre Dame sports fan and was recently trying his skill at woodburning. He will be remembered as kind, loving and a friend to all. 

Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Dorothy (Pearce) Garvey. Loving father of Sheryl Garvey of CA, Nancy Garvey of OH and the late Edward J. Garvey and his wife Nancy E. Garvey of Beverly. Devoted Grampy of Nicole A., Sydney E. and Devon R. Garvey. Brother of the late Helen Bowers, Doris, Rosemarie “Ray”, William Garvey and Robert Garvey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1 PM.
