Fitzgerald, Edward P. “Eddie Fitz” of Squantum (North Quincy), formerly of South Boston, passed away on September 21, 2018.  

Loving husband of Geraldine A. (Coyman) Fitzgerald. Devoted father of Scott A. Fitzgerald and his wife Shirley of Squantum and Donna M. (Fitzgerald) Hutchings of Squantum. Grandfather of Matthew S. Fitzgerald, Timothy E. Fitzgerald, Allison J. Fitzgerald, Ryan M. Hutchings, Sarah A. Hutchings, and Nicholas E. Hutchings, all of Squantum. Brother of William A. Fitzgerald of Acton, MA. 

Fitz was a proud lifetime member of the City Point Wildcat Organization. He was a 1951 graduate of Gate of Heaven High School, Boston College class of 1955 summa cum laude, and the George Washington University class of 1958. He also attended Suffolk University Law School and Emory University. Fitz enjoyed playing piano, singing, fishing, golf, and humor. He was an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, and Celtics, and enjoyed Greyhound dog and thoroughbred horse racing. He was also fond of Labrador retrievers. Fitz was a long time retired employee of Textron Inc. of Providence, RI. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fitz may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
