Leonard, Edward M. Ret. MDC Police of North Quincy, died February 2, 2015.
The beloved husband of the late Patricia (Holland) Leonard. Loving father of Patricia Leonard-Toomey and her husband John of Fall River, Paula Leonard and her husband William Townsend of Portsmouth, NH and Edward Leonard and Mott McCampbell of Brooklyn, NY. Brother of Martin Blake of Weymouth, Barbara Martin of Rockland, Michael Blake of Plymouth and the late James Leonard. Cherished grandad of Marisa and Devon Toomey and Lawrence Townsend. Edward is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A proud United States Marine Corp veteran, Ed served in the Korean war. After many years as a MDC police officer, he retired and took a postion as the assistant director of security for MFA. A lifetime member of Squantum Yacht Club, Ed enjoyed reading, playing cribbage and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling with his late wife Patricia. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45am on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edward may be made to Community Autism Resources, 33 James Reynolds Road, Unit C, Swansea, MA 02777.
