Edward M. Broderick

Broderick, Edward M. of Hingham, passed away April 21, 2011. Beloved husband of 51 years to Helen (Kilcoyne) Broderick of Hingham. Devoted father of Michael Broderick of Hingham, Thomas Broderick of Stoughton, Suzanne Larkin of Hingham, Edward “Steven” Broderick and his wife Barbara of Plymouth and Christina Broderick of Weymouth. Cherished “Bubba” of Daniel, Sean, Siobhan and Megan. Loving brother of Russell Broderick and his wife Jane of Middleboro and John Broderick of Rockland. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ed lived in Dorchester for many years and has lived in Hingham for the last 46 years. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1957 and was a 1st Marine Division Association Member. Edward worked as an electrician for the MBTA Signal Department for over 25 years and was a member of the IBEW Local 103 for over 50 years. He loved modeling trains, planes and tanks. Mr. Broderick also enjoyed sports, traveling and reading. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box, 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
