Edward Livingston Trudeau

Edward Livingston Trudeau of Middleboro and formerly of Weymouth died on January 24th at Brockton Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on Dec. 7, 1936 in Weymouth to Priscilla (Pat) Cormier and Frank J. Trudeau. He grew up in the Squantum section of Quincy and was a 1955 graduate of North Quincy High School where he was an All Scholastic Football Player.  Ed graduated from Wentworth Institute and worked for Eastern Airlines first in Miami, Florida and then at Boston’s Logan Airport for 32 years.  He then worked for the Trump Shuttle and retired from US Airways in 1995.  He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was married to Ann (MacKenzie) Trudeau for 55 years. They lived in Weymouth for 35 years and then moved to the Oak Point Complex in Middleboro. Ed spent many years wintering in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Ed was the father of four children Donald Trudeau and his wife Janet; Dale Trudeau and his wife Kathryn and Tracy Baker and her husband John, all of Weymouth and Douglas Trudeau and his wife, Kim, of Scituate.  He was the proud “Papa Ed” to his 12 grandchildren: Stephen, Donald, Jeffrey & Daniel; Brooke & Edward Trudeau, Jack, Luke, Benjamin and Joshua Baker all of Weymouth and Ashley & Tyler Trudeau of Scituate.  He was the brother of Patricia Mullaney of Plymouth and brother in law to Donald MacKenzie of Jamaica Plain.  He leaves 2 nephews and 4 nieces.

In 2005 Ed was inducted into the Quincy/No.Quincy Football Hall of Fame which was something that brought him much pride and Joy.  He was a member of Old South Union Church, the Weymouth Elks, and was a Lifetime Member of the DAV.  For many years, Ed bowled with the No. Weymouth Men’s Bowling League.  He was very active in Troop 19 and was a Webelo Leader for several years and was most proud that two of his sons became Eagle Scouts.  Ed never missed a swim meet or football game that his sons were involved in. He designed sets and executed lights for Showstoppers theatrical productions lead by his son, Doug.  He loved watching the Patriots and BC’s football games.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). A Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12 PM in Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St., Weymouth. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donation in Ed’s memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association Massachusetts Chapter, 72 East Concord Street, C3, Boston, MA 02118.
