Edward Joseph Conway

Conway, Edward Joseph, 83 years of age, expired March 9, 2016 at South Shore Rehabilitation Center in Rockland after a long illness.

Son of the late Edward and Isabelle Conway, brother of  Alice Falcone of Paxton, MA, and the late Isabelle Looney of Cambridge, MA.

He was born in Cambridge, MA but spent the last 50 years living in Weymouth.

Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary T. Conway, his children; Mary Jeanne Conway of Rockland, MA, Stephen Conway and his wife Marybeth Conway of Weymouth, MA; Carolyn Melonakos of Dracut, MA, Mark Conway and his wife Jan Rousseau of Pelham, NH,  Kathleen Conway of Rockland, MA, Edward Conway of Rockland, MA,  and Sean Conway of Weymouth, MA. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Adam and Evan Conway, Zachary Melonakos, Brenna Mae Conway, and Nicholas Conway; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Burdett College School of Accounting in 1960 and later received a degree in Business and Earth Science from University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2002. He worked for the B.F. Goodrich Rubber Company of Watertown, MA for many years.  He also worked for High Voltage Engineering in Cambridge, MA and Anderson Power Products in Brighton, MA. He was a proud member of the United States Coast Guard and served on the USCGC Eastwind during the Korean War and was involved in the Pendleton and Fort Mercer rescues in February of 1952.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne, Tuesday at 12:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edward may be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250. Edward’s family thanks the DAV for many years of caring service.
