Walter, Edward J. of Hingham, formerly of NJ, died July 22, 2023.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Sally Ann (Flannery) Walter of Hingham. Devoted father of Edward Walter Jr. and his wife Stella, Michael Walter and his friend Susan, and Mark Walter and his wife Linda. Loving grandfather of Jack, Madeleine, Griffin, and Ava Walter. Previously deceased by his parents Joseph and Grace and his brother Joseph. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Seton Hall University in NJ with a BS in Business Accounting. He worked as a finance and marketing manager for several major food companies in NJ and NY. He retired as a field agent for the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel Army Reserve with 28 years of military service. Edward was also a past Grand Knight of Our Lady of Fatima Council 4486 and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, all in NJ. He was active in the Catholic Community of Linden Ponds and Resurrection Parish and was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist from it’s inception in 1974.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 1st at the Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
