Edward J. Murray, Jr.

Murray, Edward J., Jr. of Weymouth, passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2020.  

Edward was born and raised in Dorchester.  He was a United States Marine Veteran who proudly served his country during the Korean War.  Edward worked as a machine engineer and most recently for security at Raytheon.  He was a member of the Hibernian Irish club and the Knights of Columbus.  Edward enjoyed playing ping pong, bowling and singing.  He was an avid traveler and would take yearly trips to Hampton Beach and Martha’s Vinyard.  Edward’s main passion in life was his family and his faith.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.  Edward will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.      

Beloved husband of Mary (Johnson) Murray of Weymouth and the late Barbara (Mann) Murray.  Loving father of Helen Mary Murray Tarbi of Weymouth, Mary “Ginny” McLean and her husband Paul of Brockton, Ann Mullen and her husband Skip of Weymouth, Elizabeth “Beth” Cicerone and her husband David of Whitman, Edward J. Murray, III and his wife Kelly of Weymouth, Julie Feroli and her husband Pete of Weymouth, Patricia Hastry and her husband Tom of Weymouth, Thomas X. Murray and his wife Lisa of Plymouth and the late Paul Murray and his wife Suzanne Murray of Raynham.  Cherished step father of Richard Johnson, Jr. and his wife Gayle of Weymouth, Suzanne Braddock and her husband Allen of West Bridgewater and Kristine Haas and her husband Jeff of Rockland. Devoted Grandpa of 29 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Caring brother of John Murray of Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Funeral Mass will be private.  Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edward may be made to Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. 

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although some cannot gather together with Edward’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message.
