Edward J. Fitzgerald, Jr.

Fitzgerald, Edward J. of Weymouth, formerly of Charlestown, died May 24, 2014.

Son of the late Edward J. and Frances (Fallon) Fitzgerald. Beloved husband of 55 years of Dorothy ( Bryant) Fitzgerald of Weymouth. Loving father of Stephen J. Fitzgerald and his wife Jeanne of Adams, Judith A. Corbett and her husband Joseph of S. Weymouth, John K. Fitzgerald of Bridgewater, Linda M. Garner and her husband John of Weymouth, Susan M. Hanifan and her husband Sean of S. Weymouth, Kerin R. McGonagle of Braintree and the late Michael E. Fitzgerald. Dear brother of Frances Myers and her late husband Robert and John Fitzgerald all of W. Roxbury. Ed is survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Ed proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid Patriots fan who was a ticket holder for over 40 years.  Ed had a great sense of humor and loved walking as well as spending time with his family and friends.  He was a former employee of New England Telephone Company with 40 years of service.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
