Edward J. “Eddie” Monahan

Edward J. “Eddie” Monahan of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester, died April 22, 2017.

Eddie was a Teamster with the Local 25 for Sears. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and supported all Boston teams. He also took great pride in his Irish heritage. Eddie will be remembered for his home cooking and as an animal lover.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley Monahan (Cole). Cherished father of William of Revere, Annmarie of Foxborough, Edward and Maureen of FL, John of Braintree, James of Haverhill, Michael of New Bedford, Eileen of New Bedford and the late Diane. Loving brother to Marjorie of Arlington, Ann and Jeff of Carver, and the late John. Eddie leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:30AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth  at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Scituate, MA.
