Novak, Edward J. “Edd” of Quincy, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. The beloved husband of 48 years to Marilyn (Clark) Novak. Cherished father of Edward J. Novak, Jr. and his wife Danielle of Marshfield, Catherine Palmieri and her husband Jack of Holbrook, Maryanne Novak of Quincy, Teresa Chacon and her husband Hilton of Holbrook and Linda Scruton and her husband Devin of Holliston. Brother of Joan Novak and Alice Konieczny both of Easthampton. Devoted grandfather (“Jaju “) of Adam, Franklin and John Novak, Brendan and Nicholas Palmieri, Jada Chacon and Taylor Scruton, and the late Edward J. Novak ,III . Cherished son in law of Catherine Clark age 106 who resides at Rice Eventide Home. Edd worked for Stride Rite Shoes for 36 years retiring back in 1997. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was at his happiest when surrounded by his family. Edd was a true Baltimore Orioles fan. A proud United States Navy Veteran. He will be remembered as a gentleman with a great sense of humor who enjoyed kidding around with his cherished family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday, April 5, 2010 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Edd may be made to the Quincy Medical Center, Nurses Appreciation Fund, 114 Whitwell St. Quincy, MA 02169.
