Finch, Edward J. “Ed” Ret. BFD, of Hull, passed away April 10, 2012. Beloved husband of Mary (Kenney) Finch of Hull. Loving father of Kevin Finch and his wife Denise of Abington, Edward “Ted” Finch and his wife Loren of Moorestown, NJ, Robert Finch and his wife Kimberly of Melrose and Kathleen Omer of Hull. Brother of Margaret Stravin of Milton and the late Thomas, Francis and Gerard Finch. Cherished grandfather of Devon, Caden, Colby, Luke and Ryan Finch and Veronica Omer. Ed was a dedicated Boston Firefighter for 31 years before retiring in 1998. He was assigned to Ladder 24/ Car 3 for many years, he was also the Aid to the Safety Chief until retirement. Ed was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. in Hull. In his younger years he was a Scout Master for the Cub Scouts. Ed enjoyed entertaining and cooking, always cooking enough to feed a crowd and opening his house to all of his children’s friends. Ed’s family was the cornerstone of his life, spending time with his children and grandchildren is what he cherished most. he will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. Donations in memory of Edward may be made to Salvation Army, www.donate.salvationarmyusa.org.
