Croke, Edward J. “Uncle Eddie” of Quincy, formerly of Jamaica Plain died May 2, 2009. Beloved husband of Enda Louise (Connolly) Croke of Quincy. Dear brother of Kenneth Croke and his wife Marie of Westwood, Jeanne and her late husband Paul Carroll of Scituate, the late Marjorie and her husband Richard Fogarty of Dedham, and the late Lawrence Croke and his wife Marion of Westwood. Loving brother in law of Peggy Libbey and her late husband John of TN, Kay Harrigan and her husband Jack of FL and Ann Meehan and her late husband Dick of Quincy. Cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Edward lived in Jamaica Plain until moving to Quincy 40 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He is a retired employee of 39 years of the New England Telephone Company and AT&T. Edward was a member of the Boston Elk’s Lodge #10 and the McKeon Post #146. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Thursday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 6- 8 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in memory of Eddie may be made to Veterans Homeless Shelter, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
